
This Thursday, April 21, Dr Carmen Abril will join our Integrated Marketing Communications module as a Guest Speaker
This week’s seminar will examine Advertising Effectiveness for Brand Managers.
Dr Abril is professor of Marketing at the IE Business School of Madrid. She is responsible for several International Marketing courses and seminars at the university, having led a “Marketing in China” seminar in Shanghai and an “Innovation management and creativity” seminar in Milan. She is also currently an associate professor at the Complutense University of Madrid, teaching Marketing courses at both undergraduate and PhD levels.
She has also been a visiting professor at several international universities, including institutions in China, Italy, the Netherlands and our own Universitat de València.
Professor Abril initially graduated in Mathematics at a bachelor level from the Complutense University of Madrid. She then went on to study a Master’s Degree in Economy and Business Administration at the IESE Business School before returning to the Universidad Complutense for a PhD in Economic Business Science.
Outside her academic career, Dr Abril has worked for Gilette and Pepsico amongst others, acting as Marketing Vice-President for Spain and Greece for the latter. She was featured in Advertising Age (“Marketer of the Year”) for her work at Pepsico.
Her fields of expertise include Consumer Behaviour, Branding, Advertising and Marketing Management.
