The Valencian Institute of Public Safety and Emergency (IVASPE) has approved the Master's Degree in Law and Gender Violence at the University of Valencia, in order that the local police who make this Master's Degree in the Valencian Country develop fully their roles in specialized units against Gender Violence of the local police.
The approval is a recognition of the work done by the University of Valencia in the field of research and training on gender violence which also confirms the effort made by the academic institution in finding appropriate channels for the future professional projection of postgraduate studies.

This agreement completes the multidisciplinary training offered by the University of Valencia and all professionals who work against an act of violence against women, which began with the signing of a cooperation agreement with the Bar Association of Valencia and the General Council of the Judiciary.
The Master's Degree in Law and Gender Violence, co-directed by Professors Elena Martínez and Paz Lloria, is closely linked to the activities of the Multidisciplinary Research Group on Gender Violence at the University of Valencia, which has become, in its limited two years of operation, one of the leading graduate training in gender violence most significant of the entire state. The Group offers a multidisciplinary training in the matter, which addresses the sociological, psychological and legal aspects of this type of violence against women.
This title entrusts the attainment of the doctoral thesis and generates the skills needed for the creation and subsequent formation of human groups specializing in this field. Through this studies approval by IVASPE, the University of Valencia helps to create a link in the chain that raises awareness and transform our society values about gender and equality.
