Professor of Philosophy of Law. Teacher at the Department of Philosophy of Law and Politics and researcher at the Institute of Human Rights. Graduate and Doctor in Law from the Universitat de València Estudi General. She has been director of the University Institute of Human Rights at the University of Valencia (2005-2010) and Secretary General of the University (2010-2018). Ph degree in Law (1986), six five-year teaching periods and six six-year research periods. Her research deals with topics specific to the philosophy of law and human rights. Among them: interpretation and argumentation in human rights, social rights, equality and anti-discrimination law, immigration, law and gender perspective, access to justice, theory of law and legal argumentation. In the research field, her doctoral thesis received the national prize for social and political theses from the Centre for Constitutional Studies in 1987. Her research deals with topics specific to the philosophy of law and human rights. Among them: interpretation and argumentation in human rights, social rights, equality and anti-discrimination law, immigration, law and gender perspective, access to justice, theory of law and legal argumentation. She is the author of articles in specialized journals, book chapters and monographs in the aforementioned thematic areas. She is the director of seven doctoral theses. She has been a member of numerous research projects, most notably: Consolider-Ingenio-2010: "The Age of Human Rights" (HURI-AGE) led by the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and including 12 human rights research groups. Principal researcher of two projects on human rights, integration and global justice within the framework of the Prometeo programme for groups of excellence of the Generalitat Valenciana, she has also carried out her research within the framework of national R+D+I programmes since 1993 without interruption. He has taught undergraduate and graduate courses at the University of Valencia in subjects related to the area of knowledge: theory of law, philosophy of law, legal sociology, legal argumentation and human rights since 1984. As well as teaching in the third cycle in masters and doctoral programmes in different Spanish and Latin American universities. Currently, he has a Master's Degree in Law, Business and Justice, a Master's Degree in Human Rights, Democracy and International Justice and a Master's Degree in Law and Gender Violence. She is a member of many editorial committees, participates in the evaluation of research projects of different agencies and has been a member of academic juries in the legal field. M. Ángeles Cerezo, Full Professor in the Department of Psychology, Clinical Psychologist. Graduated from the University of Valencia with "Extraordinary Award", and PhD from the University of Madrid. Her post-doctorate was completed as a Fulbright scholar in the USA at the Child Behavior Institute of the University of Tennessee (UTK) with Dr. Robert Wahler, focusing on aggressive children in disadvantaged families. She created the "Aggression and Family" Research Unit (www.uv.es/agrefa). Her areas of expertise include early interaction and attachment in children; and family conflict and the development of antisocial behavior in preschool and school-aged children. Using observational methodology, she has designed coding systems for the assessment of coercive family processes (Standardized Observation Codes III - SOC III) and for early interaction (Códigos de Interacción Temprana; CITMI-R) with a version for newborns (CITMI-NB). Dr. Cerezo has developed primary prevention programs to promote best practices for children by supporting parenting. She designed Programa Apoyo Psicológico P/Materno-Infantil (PAPMI©, 1990), a method for strengthening children's socio-emotional development and increasing the number of children with secure attachment that has benefited more than 5,000 families. PAPMI© has led to knowledge transfer to the society with the creation of the UV spin-off the Instituto Psiológico de Infancia y Familia (IPINFA), in 2007; https://www.ipinfa.com/papmi/ She has been Visiting Professor at University College Dublin (UCD) and Trinity College (TCD) invited by Prof. Sheila Green, a Research Scholar in Residence at the Center for the Study of Family Violence at Northern University of Illinois, invited by Prof. Joel Milner, and, in 2019, a Visiting Scholar at Child & Family Institute (University of Oregon) invited by Prof. Tom Dishion, and at the Lamarsh Center for Child and Youth Research at York University in Toronto, Canada, invited by Prof. Debra Pepler. Dr. Cerezo has participated in projects in the United States, Europe (BIO-MED and Daphne), and Spain, with regional governments and institutions, and in expert groups both domestically and internationally on issues related to childhood and parenting. She is the Principal Investigator for six National Plan projects. Senior Associate Editor of Child Abuse and Neglect, the prestigious journal of the International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (ISPCAN), from 2005 to 2010. Her courses in Master's Degrees relate with child abuse and its consequences (Psychological Intervention in Social Settings), psychological processes in domestic violence (Law and Gender-based Violence), socio-emotional assessment in early interaction (Health Psychology), and early interaction in socio-emotional development (Postgraduate Program in Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology - Child Development and Early Intervention). In the Psychology degree program, she teaches Psychology of Delinquency (last year optional course). Her teaching career spans seven five-year periods, all of which have received positive evaluations. Professor Cerezo's research program connects theory with practice: practice generating greater knowledge and improving, in turn, interventions. She is the author of more than one hundred articles in national and international journals. She focuses her research activity on early interaction predictors of child attachment quality based on dynamic analysis and the development of child mental health promotion programs. |
Patricia Llopis Nadal is Associate Professor (Senior Lecturer) of Procedural Law at University of Valencia. She completed her Law Degree (2012), her LLM in European Law (2014) and her PhD in Law (2017) with honors at University of Valencia and was awarded the Academic Excellence Scholarship by the Valencian Government (Law graduate students, Year 2012). Her research has been focused on supranational courts, copyrights legal protection, the protection of rights in the digital realm and judicial cooperation in criminal matters. In 2014, she was awarded with Manuel Broseta’s Prize for her research on legal protection of Fundamental Rights in Europe; in 2018, her research on copyrights protection against infringements on the Internet was awarded with Antonio Delgado’s Prize. As a result of her work as researcher, she has published two books as well as book chapters and papers in specialized reviews; besides, she has actively participated in national and international conferences. She has obtained grants funded through competitive tenders in order to complete her research at the Max Planck Institute Luxembourg for International, European and Regulatory Procedural Law (four times) and at Paris-Sorbonne University. Furthermore, she has taken part in six research projects, five national-funded and one regional-funded, on class actions and efficiency, legal safeguards in criminal proceedings and rights legal protection in the digital environment. She teaches Civil Procedural Law and Criminal Procedural Law at the Law School of the University of Valencia. She is also professor of the LLM in Criminology and Security, the LLM in Gender-based violence and the LLM in International and European studies. In 2015, she was part of the Programme in European Private Law for Postgraduates (PEPP), in 2016 she completed the International Legal English Diploma postgraduate course and since 2018 she has been teaching her subjects in English at the High-Performance groups of the University of Valencia. She is an active member of innovative teaching projects awarded by different Spanish universities; besides, since 2014 she is part of the UV-Moot Court group, coaching the teams in international competitions and sharing her experience in seminars. She was coordinator of the first and the second edition of the Summer School for Young Researchers organized by the Law School of the University of Valencia and since mars 2020 she is member and coordinator of the Inter-University Network for the Research and Teaching of Procedural Law in English. Since May 2024, she has been part of the Law School’s Management Team, where she is Vice-Dean of Postgraduate Studies and Lifelong Learning. Furthermore, between 2015 and 2017, she served as a representative of Early-Stage Research Fellows on the Senate of the University of Valencia, on its Governing Council as well as on its Statutes Committee. During the 2023–2024 academic year, she was a member of the Committee for Temporary Hiring of the Law School. She is currently a member of the Academic Coordination Committee of the Master’s Degree in International and European Studies, having served as its Secretary from April 2020 to December 2023.
