This week takes place the 4th Conference on Biomedical Research at the Aula Magna of the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry of the Universitat de València.

On 10, 11 and 12 February takes place the 4th Conference on Biomedical Research (2016) at the Aula Magna of the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry of the Universitat de València. This congress has been organised since 2013 and its main objective is to wide the complementary training for students.

These last three years have been a resounding success in this objective and also the Conference has served as a meeting point between science, biomedical research and critical thinking. On 2015 there were over 400 enrolled students coming from degrees from all the branch of biological and health sciences. The 4th Conference on Biomedical Research (CIB 2016) aims to be a reference event in the research and university scientific information outlook in Spain. 

The programme is varied and the students can participate in all kinds of events: from roundtables to lectures. ‘Research in Immunotherapy’, ‘Rare Diseases’, ‘Brainmapping’ and ‘Famelab’ will be the topics to be dealt with in the roundtables of this edition and during the three days, from 15:00 to 17:00 h. workshops of different topics will be carried out.

Students of any university that attend to the CIB 2016 can participate in the way of Oral Communications, a modality in which they can present their research and outreach works and win different prizes. These prizes will be awarded by a scientific jury formed by the directors of the Departments of the Faculty. The prizes will be given in a ceremony lead by the Dean of the Faculty and the Scientific Directors of the main research units of reference of Valencia.

The students can also participate in the modality of Scientific Posters, which will be exhibited at the hall of the Faculty during the CIB 2016 and can also win prizes.   As in the last edition, the students could also carry out visits to scientific centres in Valencia and thus approaching the daily work in the laboratories.
