On 11 and 12 May the 12th Meeting of the Spanish Society of Tropical Medicine and International Health (SEMTSI) will take place in Zaragoza.
Emerging vector-borne diseases is the topic of the meeting, with an emphasis on vectors, including both local and imported diseases and the influence of climate change on the increase of these diseases. The meeting is addressed to health professionals in all fields, contributing to their training on these little known topics that are considered exotic to most people.
The motto of the Meeting “Emerging vector-borne diseases” will allow us in a very interactive way, to upgrade knowledge, exchange experiences, interact with each other and get to know the developments of this complex subject with clinical, epidemiological, theoretical, –and also as a novelty– with scientific and educational approaches, where all attendees will be able to participate.
The event offers an appealing training programme, along with national and international experts, addressing diseases transmitted by ticks; the arbovirus; prevention and vaccines; climate models; and the risks of resurgence of infections in Spain, among other topics.
