
Dr. Calabuig, specialist in Human Filariasis, shared with the students of the Master’s Degree in Tropical Parasitic Diseases her studies on the epidemiology and clinical practice of infectious diseases caused by different species of nematodes.
The second theoretical module, dedicated to the in-depth study of Human Helminthiases in the Master’s Degree in Tropical Parasitic Diseases of the Universitat de València, will end in December.
To conclude the course, Dr. Eva Calabuig gave a master class on Human Filariasis. Dr. Calabuig has been an attending physician of the Infectious Diseases Unit at the La Fe University and Polytechnic Hospital since January 2013 and adjunct professor at the Department of Medicine of the UV Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry (since 2014).
Students began receiving a lecture on general morphological and biological aspects of the different species of Human Filariasis, both lymphatic and dermal, followed by a detailed review of the clinical practice of these species, as an example of indirectly transmitted nematodes.
