The professor James Casey is member of the prolific English association of Hispanists created by John H. Elliot, and according to the approved resolution he has made fundamental contributions to Spanish modern history, and especially to Valencian history.
His doctoral thesis was published in 1979 by the Cambridge University Press under the title The Kingdom of Valencia in the Seventeenth Century.
