Biographical outline:

Francesc Ferrer Pastor was born 13 December 1918, in Font d’en Carròs, region of la Safor.

He is the author of the most important Valencian lexicographical works, such as the Diccionari General (General Dictionary) and the Diccionari de la Rima (Rhyme Dictionary); works such as Lliçons d’Ortografia (Orthography Lessons) and Gramàtica Valenciana (Valencian Grammar); children’s books such as the Diccionari Valencià Escolar (School Valencian Dictionary), Per què el rei Gaspar té els cabells blancs (Why the Wise Man Gaspar has white hair), L’abella baralladissa (The quarrelling bee), etc; and the most well-known Vocabulari castellà-valencià i valencià-castellà (Vocabulary Castilian-Catalan and Catalan-Castilian).

Francesc Ferrer Pastor is part of the important group of people that during the twentieth century have been essential for the cultural, literary and linguistic recovering and structuration of the Valencian Country.
