The series of conferences of Unisocietat continues in February

12 professors of the Universitat de València will impart talks in Cullera, Benetússer, Bétera, Alzira, l’Eliana, Massamagrell, Paterna, Quart de Poblet, Requena, Riba-roja de Túria, Ontinyent and Gandia in February. This complementary activity of the academic course of Unisocietat is free and opened to all the interested residents of the towns and its surroundings.

The series of conferences UNISOCIETAT, primavera 2019 has been organised by the Office of the Vice-principal for Territorial Projection and Society in collaboration with the city councils of 12 towns where the programme Unisocietat has been established. In addition, Caixa Popular (in 10 towns), Caixa Ontinyent (in the capital of Vall d’Albaida) and Santander (Unimajors Gandia) cooperate in the project, too. The objective of these multidisciplinary talks is to complement the academic courses with the programme UNISOCIETAT. It has the support of the Provincial Council of Valencia and gathers more than 1,700 students during the 2018-2019 course.

The first conference of February will take place on Wednesday 6th in the City Council of Benetússer. Mónica Bolufer (Department of Modern and Contemporary History) will analyse the role of women during the Enlightenment in Europe and America.

On 12th February, Jesús Peris’ (Catalan Philology) talk Literatura y poetas will take place in the local hall of Cullera.  On 13th February, the professor of Spanish Philology Antonio Briz will offer the conference Saber hablar in the Castle of Bétera.

The conferences will continue on 14th February in Riba-roja de Túria and Ontinyent. Amparo Oliver (Methodology of Behaviour Sciences) will address healthy ageing in the Assembly Hall of the Social Centre in Riba-roja. The professor Isabel Rodríguez (Social Psychology) will deal with the question of stress being an ally or an enemy.

The professor Raúl Espert will impart the conference Neuromodulación TDCS: dopaje cerebral y electricidad on 19th February at the Training Centre of Adult People “Enric Valor” of Alzira. The professor Esperanza Navarro (Evolutionary and Educational Psychology) will speak about the concept of fragility and how can we delay ageing. Her conference will take place at the office of Unisocietat in L’eliana (Camp de Túria).

The professor Gabriel Terol (Language Theory and Communication Sciences) will focus his intervention on the relationship between the West and the East on 20th February in the city council of Quart de Poblet.

On 21st February, the series of conferences of Unisocietat arrives to three towns: Massamagrell, Paterna y Requena. The professor José Cantó (Didactics of Experimental and Social Sciences) will impart the conference Horóscopos, astrología y otras mentiras: el peligro de las pseudociencias. The Social Centre Campament of Paterna will host the talk of Rafael Currás (Marketing and Market Research) on responsible consumption. In the Cultural Centre Feliciano Antonio Yeves of Requena, the professor Francisco Javier Jiménez (Administrative and Procedural Law) will share with the attendees a talk entitled ¿Es posible una respuesta al terrorismo internacional con respeto a los derechos humanos?

Finally, the International Centre of Gandia will receive the professor Paula Jardón (School Didactics and Organisation), who will impart the conference Moros en la costa. Tiempo de piratería en el Mediterráneo.
