The runners-up go to Murcia to compete in the National Championship.
The karate team of the Universitat de València goes to Los Alcázares (Murcia) to compete in the Spanish University Championship, organised by the Universidad Católica de Murcia.
The team participates in the national event after a good performance in the Regional University Sports Championship (CADU), regional competition in which they got 6 golds, 6 silvers and 14 bronzes. These good results made the UV reach the top of the podium as the best university for another year. The team also achieved very good results last year at the Spanish championship, reaching the second place by teams with a gold and 4 bronzes. Arturo Olmedo, who coaches the UV team, faces this new event “with great enthusiasm, even though we have considerable injury problems compared to previous seasons, we hope to maintain the level and get between 2 and 5 medals. Last season we were national runners-up, and it will be tough to improve this result, but we are going to struggle very hard for it.”
