The Institute of Molecular Science (ICMol) of the University of Valencia (UV) and the Scientific Culture and Innovation Unit of the academic institution itself have organised a new edition of the nanostories contest for 3rd and 4th year students of Secondary Education (ESO), Baccalaureate and Vocational Training, within the 10ALAMENOS9 Nanoscience Festival. This year, in addition, it comes with news in the Valencian Community, since a nanovideo contest has also been called. Registration closes on April 17 for the video contest and on the 28 of the same month for the story contest.

Nanotechnology is the design, characterisation, and application of complex structures, devices, and systems by controlling the shape, size, and properties of matter at the nanometre scale. Thus, in the contests it is a question of preparing a simple story or video that has to do with some aspect of Nanoscience.

The nanostories contest is organised into two categories. The A, for participants with 14 or 15 years as of 12/31/2022 (3^rd and 4^th ESO), and the B, for participants with 16 or 17 years as of 12/31/2022 (Baccalaureate). In the case of the #NanoEnVídeos contest, there is a single category, for participants (individuals or groups) from 12 to 17 years old. The winners will also go on to the national and international phase of the contest, in which they will compete with other regions of Spain and students from other countries.

The prizes are 200 euros for each winner of the nanostories contest and a batch of popular science books from the University of Valencia for the educational centre of each of these people. In the video contest, the first prize will be 200 euros for the participant or participants of the winning video and a set of science dissemination books, as well as a second prize that will also consist of a set of this type of books.
