Embracing the mediterranean diet and lifestyle

The Bionutest group of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Food Sciences has organised the 2nd meeting of the MEDIET4ALL project of the PRIMA Horizon Europe call aimed at innovating and promoting the Mediterranean diet and lifestyle.

The Bionutest group (https://www.uv.es/bionutest/index.html) of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Food Sciences has organised, from 15 to 17 January, the second meeting of the MEDIET4ALL Project of the PRIMA Horizon Europe call, coordinated by Dr. Acharf Ammar, where professor Amparo Gamero coordinates work package 2.

The project aims to establish best practices and apply creative solutions to improve nutritional, antioxidant and sustainability aspects, as well as to modernise recipes of the Mediterranean Diet (https://www.mediet4all.eu/).

The welcome ceremony was attended by professor Emilia Ferrer, Vice-Dean of International Relations and the inaugural conference was given by Dr. Anna Bach-Faig, professor at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) entitled "Healthy and sustainable Mediterranean Diet". This was followed by a showcooking session by the Mediterranean Culinary Center.

For three days, the project members present from the Johannes Gutenberg-University Mainz (Germany); University of Bourgogne (Dijon, France); University of Palermo (Italy); University of Sfax (Tunisia); Microtarians Institute (Luxembourg) and the Universitat de València (Spain) together with the members who attended the meeting online (Vitagora, (Dijon, France); the National School of Agriculture in Meknes (Morocco); the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy of Rabat (Morocco) and the M’Hamed Bougara University of Boumerdès (Algeria)) have exchanged ideas, discussed results and coordinated their work; the National School of Agriculture of Meknes (Morocco); the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy of Rabat (Morocco) and the University of Boumerdès (Algeria)) have exchanged ideas, discussed results and coordinated future tasks for a successful implementation of the project.

The meeting has been a success both professionally and socially, sharing excellent leisure time visiting the Faculty and the city of Valencia.
