Why studying Gastronomic Sciences at the UV?

UV is a public, non-profit university, serving society. The prices are public and set by the Valencian Government. Admissions to Degrees are regulated, and they are done in a fully transparent manner.

This degree is taught at the Faculty of Pharmacy. This building has excellent facilities, classrooms, labs and a library. It has also the best equipment to develop high quality teaching, both theoretical and practical, besides having the experience of other two related degrees (Human Nutrition and Dietetics; Science and Food Technology).

An ideal place with experienced teachers!

Over the 70% of teaching of the Degree in Gastronomic Sciences is taught by Doctor Professors. Some of them are already working on research projects with enterprises in the catering, tourism, gastronomy and health sector, so that they transfer their science and technological knowledge to the world of gastronomy.

Our contributors are the Universitat Politècnica de València; the Tourism Centre of Valencia (CdT); the Hotel and Catering Business Federation of Valencia (FEHV), along with its Foundation (FHV); the Gambrinus Catering School; Mercavalencia; Boards dealing with Designations of Origin; and the Valencian Academy of Gastronomy.

We train scientific and technological based professionals, able to manage any catering service, either in “haute cuisine”, commercial or collective catering, or in food industry; able to seek opportunities and to design and develop new proposals of gastronomic business.

Tourism and, especially, food sector have a strong presence in the Valencian Community. These sectors have grown and created jobs even during the economic crisis, in a way, thanks to the appearance of new food products on the market. Catering companies are a distinguishing feature to achieve a high-quality tourism.
