The conference “Territory and Sustainability: data that transforms the common good” will explore, through real-world case studies and technical round-table discussions, applications relating to territorial and urban sustainability, logistics corridors and interoperable compliance, applied artificial intelligence, data governance and sovereignty, amongst other topics, on 28th May in the Joan Pelechano lecture hall at the ETSE-UV and via live online streaming.

Organised by Kiwa Spain and the IRTIC, the event will demonstrate how data spaces are beginning to establish themselves as strategic infrastructures for the digital and sustainable transformation of the region, by facilitating new models of collaboration between sectors, interoperability between organizations, and management based on shared, secure and governed data. In addition to the topics described, the sessions will cover the circular economy and waste recovery, agri-food sustainability and water efficiency, traceability and environmental certification, as well as federated ecosystems and trusted environments. The conference aims to establish itself as a leading forum for dialogue between public authorities, universities, technology companies, industry and key organizations involved in the development of data spaces and interoperable digital infrastructures.

Furthermore, the presentations will bring together institutional representatives, innovation experts, those in charge of strategic projects, and organisations currently involved in initiatives launched under the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR), funded by the European NextGenerationEU programme and linked to programmes run by the Ministry for Digital Transformation and the Civil Service.

The event features top-level speakers from the worlds of academia, public administration, sustainability, logistics and regional innovation. Among them are the professor of Geography at the University of Valencia and former commissioner for the Mediterranean Corridor Josep Vicent Boira, the former representative of the Regional Government of Andalusia in Madrid and expert in urban innovation Candela Mora, the director-general of the European Green Capital Valencia Antonio García Celda, and the chair of the Port Authority of Valencia Mar Chao.
