The European Health Data Space (EHDS) will provide a scenario for increased cross-border use of health datasets for secondary uses in research, education and the development of medical and management applications supported by artificial intelligence (AI).
In this context, the capabilities of preparing and cataloguing datasets, designing secure processing environments and the capabilities to align with EHDS as trusted data holders constitute an opportunity for positioning healthcare entities in the new ecosystem.
In the Health area, IRTIC has collaborated in various projects, including the following European projects under development:
- EUCAIM project: European Federation for Cancer Images (eucaim.eu)
- XShare: Expanding the European EHRxF to Share and Effectively Use Health Data within the EHDS (xshare-project.eu)
- CHAIMELEON: Accelerating the lab to market transition of AI tools for cancer management (chaimeleon.eu)
EUCAIM is co-funded by the European Union under Grant Agreement umber 1011100633. Views and opinions expressed are however those of the author(s) only and do not necessarily reflect those of the European Union. Neither the European Union nor the granting authority can be held responsible for them.
