The eID4Spain20 project has been completed by successfully connecting the public electronic services provided by three Spanish public administrations to the Spanish eIDAS node via CL@VE 2.0 to enable cross-border authentication in line with the eIDAS Regulation. Therefore, these services are available in production environment for cross-border authentication through the Spanish eIDAS node via Cl@VE 2.0.

This platform is the main Spanish electronic government solution used by local, regional and national public electronic services to authenticate citizens according to the new interfaces and requirements. Participating entities were already connected to a previous version of CL@VE that was not linked to the eIDAS node, as this is a functionality incorporated in the new version.

The action supports Spanish public authorities in complying with the requirements of the eIDAS Regulation and facilitates access to Spanish public electronic services for EU citizens and businesses using their national electronic identification, thus ensuring cross-border mobility and strengthening the digital single market.

The City Council of Torrent, the City Council of Alcobendas and the Provincial Council of Ourense have participated in the initiative with the coordination of the Institute on Robotics and Information and Communication Technologies (IRTIC). The European Commission's Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA) is co-financing this project through the CEF Telecom programme.

In this way, any person with European citizenship can access the services that require digital identification provided by these bodies, just like those with Spanish citizenship.
