The “MATIS: Mediterranean- Atlantic Transport Intelligent Systems” project is holding its steering committee meeting at the facilities of the Servei de Català de Trànsit (SCT), in Barcelona, on Tuesday 10th and Wednesday 11th June. The sessions will share the implementation of the work packages, cover technical presentations and include visits to the traffic control centre of the SCT and ABERTIS, participants in the initiative in Spain.
MATIS aims to promote the implementation of intelligent transport systems (ITS) within the Mediterranean-Atlantic corridor area. The project, which will run until 2027, involves a consortium of 11 public and private entities and 30 affiliated entities with competences in road traffic management from France, Portugal, Italy and Spain.
This is an initiative promoted by the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) within its Connecting Europe Facilities (CEF) programme. IRTIC is responsible for coordinating the group of beneficiaries in Spain, comprising ABERTIS, AUTEMA, AUSOL and the SCT. In addition, AUCAT and Castellana de Autopistas participate as affiliated entities of ABERTIS.
