The NaturBuild project partners met for the third time in the Italian city of Piacenza on June 21st and 22nd to present the Interactive Map on Nature-based Solutions and the analysis of what competences are needed to carry out the construction, maintenance and deconstruction of green roofs.

The aim of the initiative is to create a comprehensive, module-based training course to train construction workers in the installation, maintenance and deconstruction of nature-based solutions. This will contribute to the mitigation of the impact of buildings and cities through training and awareness raising.

During the meeting, NaturBuild partners have shared their progress in the development of training modules, specialised in green roofs, aimed at workers in the sector.

They have also been in charge of validating the interactive map of the project, which shows some examples of green roofs installed in Spain, Greece, Italy and Portugal, as examples of good practices applied to achieve urban and building sustainability.

The Natur-based solutions initiative is led by the Fundación Laboral de la Construcción (in Spain), which coordinates a consortium formed by five entities from: Spain, the Institute on Robotics and Information and Communication Technologies (IRTIC), attached to the University of Valencia; Greece, Pedmede Somateio; Italy, Scuola Edile Piacenza; and Portugal, Laboratorio Nacional de Energia e Geologia.
