The research institutes of the Science Park of the University of Valencia (PCUV) collaborate in the organization of the commemorative day of International Women's Day next March 8th, from 10:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Marie Curie Hall. After the welcome session, the conference "The gender wage gap that we do not see. A challenge for equality policies" and, finally, there will be a round table with representatives of the Research Institutes of the PCUV with the participation of the Ramón y Cajal researcher at the IRTIC Cristina Portalés.
The Institute on Robotics and Information and Communication Technologies (IRTIC), Institute of Corpuscular Physics (IFIC), Institute of Molecular Science (ICMol), Cavanilles Institute of Biodiversity and Evolutionary Biology (ICBIBE), Institute of Materials Science (ICMUV), Institute of Agrochemistry and Food Technology (IATA) and the Institute of Integrative Systems Biology (I2SYSBIO), the PCUV-based research institutes, collaborate together to carry out for the first time this coordinated action focused on the promotion of equality.
At 10:45 a.m. the day will begin with the intervention of the vice-rector of Equality, Diversity and Inclusive Policies of the UV, Sylvia Martínez, the institutional delegate of the CSIC in the Valencian Community, Juan Fuster, the advisor of Cabinet in the Ministry of Science and Innovation and director of the Women and Science Unit, Silvia Rueda, and the director of the Science Park of the University of Valencia, Pedro Carrasco.
At 11 a.m., the conference "The gender wage gap that we do not see. A challenge for equality policies" with Marcela Jabbaz Churba, professor of the Department of Sociology and Social Anthropology and Researcher at the University Institute for Women's Studies of the University of Valencia.
After a break, a round table will be held with representatives of the research institutes of the PCUV at 12:15 p.m. Participants will include the professor at the ETSE-UV and Ramón y Cajal Researcher at the IRTIC Cristina Portalés, the Chair of Botany (emeritus) of the UV and member of the Commission for Equality and Diversity of the ICBiBE Eva Barreno, professor of Inorganic Chemistry at the UV, attached to the Archaeometry Unit and secretary of the ICMUV Sonia Mascarós and professor of the Department of Physics of the Earth and Thermodynamics at the UV and researcher at the IPL Belén Franch.
