The city does not have any public supply point and its fleet is just over a hundred units

Valencia City Council has launched, through the InnDEA foundation, a project studying the installation of two-way points in electric vehicle charging buildings. The aim of this study, called Smart Mobile Energy, is to analyze the economic impact that would supply electrical systems in buildings, with the intention that the loads can be reversed in the mains of these properties.

Remember that Valencia does not have any point of public electric charging, after a few years ago the only one who was in the town hall square, installed in 2010. The development of vehicle batteries in the "cap i Casap" is dismantled it is very slow, because the lack of these supply points impede the proliferation of cars with "zero emissions", of which there are just over a hundred registered units.

The big problem for the installation of fast charging points is its high cost, as it is between 50,000 and 60,000 euros.

Councilman innovation and vice president of InnDEA Valencia, Jordi Peris explains that this project "aims to solve a future problem clear, is that in the coming years electric vehicles will grow exponentially, so many charging points will be needed and this means that there may be problems with the electrical network of cities that are not prepared. "

Given this fact, the Smart Mobile Energy project will study the impact of installing charging points with V2G technology in city buildings. This technology allows the reduction of pressure on the power grid by allowing electricity to be channeled bidirectionally, go the charger to the vehicle and the vehicle charger, and thus return back to the grid. This system has a high potential not only environmentally friendly, energy-saving, but also economic.

The Smart Mobile Energy project has funding of almost 90,000 euros, and will be implemented over a period of six months. It is scheduled to begin next September.

This project is included in one of the programs of the European platform to combat climate change Climate Kic and develop an international consortium of organizations such as the British agency Cenex, the Technical University of Berlin, the University of Valencia (IRTIC - LISITT), the Technological Institute of Energy (Valencia) and InnDEA Valencia.
