INTRAS celebrates 30 years of commitment to road safety, mobility, and applied research, consolidating three decades dedicated to research, training, knowledge transfer, and social impact at both national and international levels.

Founded in 1995 by the University of Valencia, the institute was created with the mission of generating knowledge that is useful to society. Today, it is an international benchmark, with activities on all five continents and a presence in more than 50 countries.

Throughout its history, INTRAS has developed more than 400 projects for public administrations, institutions, and companies, mobilising over 30 million euros thanks to collaboration with nearly 300 organisations. Its scientific output includes more than 150 books, almost 260 articles, participation in over 500 conferences, and the supervision of nearly 65 doctoral theses.

In the field of education, its master’s programmes and specialised diplomas stand out, with more than 300 training initiatives aimed at professional development and social awareness in road safety and mobility.

This journey has been made possible thanks to a multidisciplinary team of more than 30 professionals and has been recognised with numerous national and international awards and distinctions.

As it turns 30, INTRAS looks to the future with the same innovative spirit, addressing new challenges linked to digitalisation, such as Data Spaces, artificial intelligence, and connected and sustainable mobility, reinforcing its commitment to society.
