The IV Workshop of Valenciaport Chair of Port Economics APV-UV took place, under the title of “Las cadenas de suministro y los puertos frente al nuevo escenario global: mercados emergentes”, along with the awards ceremony of the Chair.
The last 25th February 2026 the IV Workshop of Valenciaport Chair of Port Economics APV-UV took place in the Edificio del Reloj de València (Muelle del Grao, s/n), with the title of: “Las cadenas de suministro y los puertos frente al nuevo escenario global: mercados emergentes” (New supply chains and harbours facing the new global stage – emerging markets).
The inauguration of the workshop and the awards ceremony of the Chair were carried out by Dr Aurelio Acedo Aceña –managing director of the Valencian Porth Authority–, Dr Rosa María Donat Beneito –vice rector of Transfer and Innovation–, and Dr Vicente J. Pallardo López – Director of the Valenciaport Chair–.
The first conference was "Perspectivas económicas mundiales en un entorno definido por la geoestrategia" (global economic perspectives in an environment defined by geostrategy), carried out by Dr Rafael Doménech Vilariño, the person in charge of Economic Analysis of BBVA Research and Professor of Economic Analysis, UV.
The second activity was carried out by the panel discussion “Nuevo escenario, nuevos retos, nuevas oportunidades” (New scenery, new challenges, and new opportunities), with Mr Damian Kutnowski, Chief Business Officer MARTICO; Ms Luz Martínez Musoles, Director of the International area, Valencia’s Chamber; Mr Jonas Mendes Constante, Senior consultant Port Strategy & Innovation, Valenciaport Foundation; and Mr Bojan Shimbov, Professor and researcher of the International Economic Institute, U. Jaume I.
Finally, the workshop ended with the conference: “Cuatro años pensando sobre un mundo transformado” (four years thinking about a changed world), of Dr Vicente J. Pallardo López, director of the Valenciaport Chair, and director of the International Economic Institute, UV.

Awards ceremony for the IV Awards of Valenciaport Chair
After the opening act, the award ceremony for the IV Awards of the Valenciaport Chair took place. The first prize, with a monetary award of 1500 euros, was given to Cristina Esparis Badenes for her Master’s Thesis called “Planificación de una terminal para la industria eólica marina en el muelle de costa de la dársena sur del Puerto de Castellón” (Planning of a terminal for the wind power industry in the coast pier of the Puerto de Castellón southern dock). The second prize, awarded with 750 euros, was given to María Ballester Díaz, in recognition of her Master’s Thesis “Evaluación del potencial de Sudáfrica y el Puerto de Durban como ejes estratégicos en el contexto marítimo actual” (Evaluation of Sudáfrica and Puerto de Durban’s potential as strategic areas in the current maritime context).
