Sponsored by Agrobank, the Chair for Agri-food Cooperatives organised last Thursday 13 February a new seminar titled ‘Novedades fiscales 2025 para las cooperativas’ (2025 Tax Innovations for Cooperatives) .
In this online seminar, each participant joined after having registered in the web shared on social media. It has a duration of 2h, from 10:00am to 12:00am.
It was a very interesting seminar where experts explained the most recent tax changes which will affect the cooperatives in 2025. But not only the news were explained in detail but the experts also guided the participants in making smart choices for the new situation.
The event was moderated by Tomás Rojas, Finance Director of Cooperativas Agro-alimentarias de España (Agri-Food Cooperatives of Spain). The first lecturers were the Chair’s Head, Pilar Alguacil Marí, full university professor of Financial and Tax Law of the UV and Mª Pilar Bonet Sánchez, associate professor of the Department of Financial Law and Legal History of the Universitat de València.
First, Pilar Alguacil talked about the news on fiscal regulations and corporate income tax. The expert explained different laws, decrees and data on the reintroduction of certain limitations. Even if some of these did not directly impact cooperatives, it was worth mentioning since they can affect them if they have certain characteristics such as owned subsidiaries. They also talked about capitalisation reserve, modification of the minimum corporate taxation and jurisprudence.
Then, Tomás Rojas introduced the next lecturer: Pilar Bonet. She focused on the subject of Value Added Tax. Mostly the modifications of it in products such as fermented milk, pasta or oils (olive and seed). Ultimately, very relevant products for cooperatives. In addition, Pilar Bonet talked about the news on the Personal Income Tax and the changes in jurisprudence.
It was a very interesting seminar focused on the cooperatives’ interests. If you could not assist, you want to remember some of the advise or want to experience the event again, you can see the seminar on Youtube.
