The 7th edition of the Plastics and Circular Economy conference will be held in Valencia on November 7.
Beyond recycling. This event, organised by AIMPLAS, ANAIP and Plastics Europe, has established itself as a national benchmark in the field of sustainability and innovation in the plastics industry. On this occasion, it offers a student price of 100 euros to those who are studying at the Universitat de València. To do so, please indicate in the comments section of the registration form AIMPLAS-UV Chair. In addition, the Chair may subsequently be asked to the funding of this cost, as foreseen until the budget is exhausted, according to the recent call for training grants.
The meeting will bring together a hundred of the main companies in the sector, as well as some twenty specialists, researchers and industry leaders, in order to exchange knowledge and experiences. Key questions will be addressed such as: What steps should I follow to achieve a good eco-design of my products? How will the digital passport for plastic materials and products be implemented? Is the measurement of the corporate carbon footprint mandatory by 2025? In addition, a space will be set up at this edition to showcase innovations in the circular economy in a tangible way through demonstrators, such as the future digital passport for plastic products.

Thematic blocks
The conference, structured in four thematic blocks, will begin with an inspirational talk given by the host of the event, Miguel Aguado, a renowned environmental communicator, which will give way to the first block, dedicated to innovation in eco-design. In this session, it will be adressed the regulations about ecological design of sustainable products from the hands of Timoeo de la Fuente, in representation of the Ministery of Industry and Tourism. Later, we will count with the participation of entities, training centres and technological institutes as Valenver, Elisava and AiMPLAS in a panel discussion where there will be debates about different approaches about eco-design
The second block will address reuse and refill as key strategies for waste reduction. The New European Reuse Alliance (New ERA) will review the benefits of these new models, seeking to address the challenges that their design and implementation pose. It will also review various initiatives that are being implemented in Europe, with special emphasis on the regulatory aspects that will have an impact in the coming years. This session will be joined by companies such as Babaria, Oceansix and Sintac Recycling, which will showcase innovations from a packaging perspective in sectors such as food, cosmetics and packaging.
The third part of the conference will be dedicated to advances in circularity and decarbonisation, with the participation of the director of València European Green Capital, who will share his experiences and perspectives on this highly relevant issue in the session's keynote speech. Issues related to the renewable energy sector will be addressed with the presentation of Enfinity, which will offer solutions to revalue wind assets at the end of their useful life. In addition, companies from the automotive sector, such as Forvia and Industrias Alegre, will show proposals focused on the reduction of the carbon footprint and the use of recycled plastics. For its part, Asobiocom will participate to present the latest developments in biodegradable and compostable plastics.
Finally, companies such as Novamont, Repsol, Green World Compounding and Nob166 will present how they have turned the challenge of the circular economy into an opportunity and have been able to implement new sustainable business models in sectors such as raw materials, recycling and the entire value chain, with the common goal of achieving sustainability.
