The AIMPLAS-UV Chair participated in the 3rd International Forum on Marine Litter and Circular Economy with the aim to fight against the production of plastic waste.
The 3rd International Forum on Marine Litter and Circular Economy (MARLICE), organised by the Asociación Española de Basuras Marinas (AEBAM), gathered the main international experts in the field. It concluded on 24 May.
At this event, sponsored by the AIMPLAS-UV Chair, ideas and strategies on how to tackle plastic waste production and how to reduce the amount of marine litter were presented.
With more than 170 attendees, the event brought together more than 100 international experts from over 70 different entities in a myriad of debates centred on research, innovation and conservation.
During the forum, attendees could participate in a series of workshops (MARLICE4PEOPLE) in which the AIMPLAS-UV Chair was actively involved. These revolved around multiple topics, such as art, communication and environmental education.

In the area of environmental education, a workshop on recycling and plastics was conducted by Plàstic Preciós La Safor at the Watchtower Building. The AIMPLAS-UV Chair accompanied the students of the Degree in Biotechnology from the Faculty of Biology of the UV and the Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering of the School of Engineering.
The sponsorship of these events is meant to give the students a space for networking, an opportunity to learn outside the classroom and insight into the impact of not properly managed plastic waste.
