The AIMPLAS-UV Chair actively took part in the Technological Institutes panel, moderated by José Badia, at the Communication, Innovation and Sustainable Fashion Event.
On 10 May, José Badia, Head of the AIMPLAS-UV Chair, Esteban Galán Cubillo and María Rodríguez moderated the Technological Institutes panel at the Communication, Innovation and Sustainable Fashion event.
This event highlighted the incorporation of the Universitat de València to the Social Forum of the Fashion Industry as an institutional action of the Office of the Vice-Principal for Sustainability, Cooperation and Healthy Life. The event was supported by relevant associations, companies and trade unions in the sector.
The topics discussed included:
- ‘What we have learned’: Social Forum of the Fashion Industry presented by Tamara Antón, Aitor Boiza and Raquel López Labiano.
- Superior research and training in fashion and sustainability, presented by Lindsey Drylie Carey, Xavier Carbonell, Nadia Alonso and Isidor Boix.
- Innovation and technology for sustainable fashion, presented by Mireia Fernández Bazán, Elena Orgiles Calpena, Sara Gil Mora and Vicente Cambra Sánchez.
- Sustainability and artificial intelligence, presented by Emilio Sáez Soro.

Four technological institutes participated in the Innovation and Technology panel for sustainable fashion. The discussion focused on eco-design and the main challenges that the fashion industry faces as it strives to improve sustainability throughout its value chain.
During the event, the speakers emphasised the importance of innovation, technology and communication to promote an ethical approach committed with the sustainability of the fashion industry.
