It will take place on 26, 27 and 28 November 2018 at the Universitat de València.
The colloquium strives to give visibility and create bonds between researchers and creators in cultural studies, specialised or interested in gender and sexuality perspectives and topics.
With the aid of sociology, this scientific meeting aims to raise awareness and study the different forms of artistic and literary creation driven by new socio-cultural, diasporic or transnational identities. This research draws on cultural, postcolonial and anti-capitalist studies as well as gender and sexuality studies as its reference, and explores the intersectionality between them. The aim is to analyse the processes of production of subjectivity based on interculturality and transnational culturality, the mixing and hybridisation of values and cultural references.
It aims to explore topics related to gender and sexuality from different scopes, disciplines and intersections that may encompass feminist, queer, cultural and postcolonial studies. Starting from concrete socio-cultural contextualisations, these perspectives on gender and sexuality will be applied to the various means of expression (literature, cinema, theatre, art, performance, comics, music, etc.) and will address particular authors and works, some of which will be present during the colloquium
