Cultures of work: Understandings and values of work taught and learned in adult and vocational education.
The 31st conference of the network (VET & Culture VET & CULTURE WORKSHOP 2024) wishes to participate in debates that address how vocational and adult education is developing work in its cultural dimension as part of the content of what is transmitted in VET adults and in vocational training, or if the dominant political discourses on the development of skills are hindering these dimensions, which are then left in the hands of each individual, while identities are configured around other areas of life and work loses the central role it has played in adult identity in the last two centuries.
VET & CULTURE WORKSHOP 2024: Cultures of work: Understandings and values of work taught and learned in adult and vocational education is linked to specific objective 6.1 European research and innovation supports citizen participation, social inclusion and equality in Europe, including comprehensive communication of the European added value of R&D&I. The proposed meeting aims to call for the participation of different sectors (educational institutions - education professionals, vocational training students, collaborating companies that offer training practices in VET, chambers of commerce and/or unions...), at the European level, to exchange experiences around the development of FP. Promoting a scientific meeting between the population, from the scientific field, but also from professional practice itself, will allow citizens to be informed about the results and actions, challenges and opportunities that must be addressed in the vocational training system of each of the participating countries. In fact, specific objective 6.1 itself proposes the use of communication strategies such as conferences or scientific meetings to carry out this training task with citizens.
From October 2 to 4, 2024, at the Faculty of Philosophy and Educational Sciences we will have the opportunity to share with international experts on professional and adult education.
