Marc Ribot is one of the most prestigious and in demand guitarists on the New York scene. This avant-garde composer, improviser and accompanist has participated in a multitude of eclectic projects ranging from free jazz to rock, blues and Cuban music, making him one of the most versatile musicians of our time.
His long lists of collaborations include artists such as Tom Waits, Elvis Costello, Solomon Burke, Marianne Faithfull, Caetano Veloso, John Zorn and Hal Willner, among many others.
In addition, Ribot is also a committed musician who actively fights for artists’ rights with the group Musicians Action. He’s author of the book ‘Unstrung: Rants and Stories of a Noise Guitarist’ (Akashic Books, 2021), and on May the 9th he will be dialoguing at La Nau Cultural Centre of the Universitat de València about his work and his political commitment in an act hosted by the Director of the Cultural Observatory, Raúl Abeledo.
