During the 2025-26 course, the Universitat de València has fostered a jazz workshop carried out by Kako Rubio, from the musicians group Sedajazz, with the aim of creating a big band in the UV.

The workshop, developed between February and May and with a total duration of 28 hours, has counted with the participation of more than 20 musicians of the university community. The training includes saxophones, trumpets, trombones, clarinets, flutes, as well as a rhythm section –guitars, piano, electric bass, and percussion– and a singer, resulting in the first big band of the UV.

After several months of rehearsal, a varied repertoire has been prepared for the debut concert that will take place next Monday, 11 May at 7pm, at the main square of the Burjassot-Paterna campus.

Big Bands battle between Big Band UV and Big Band UPV. Saturday, 9 May at 7pm in Sedajazz, within the spring period of Cultujazz.
