SUMMARY
Colloquium-concert carried out by the Cuban composer and pianist Jorge Antonio Fernández, who proposes a tour through music history for the audiovisual in Cuba. The objective is analysing the main musical, social, and historical characteristics that have defined this field, as well as tracing the evolution from the decades of 1940 and 1950 to nowadays, with special emphasis in documentary soundtracks. During the session, Fernández will accompany his intervention with examples on the piano, playing his own compositions as well as emblematic songs of the Cuban cinema. To finish, the musician will address his work El Lamento de Liusia, created especially for the exhibition Lost documents – Tchernobyl kids in Cuba, explaining how it is joined in the tradition of Cuban incidental music.
