The project INTERGENERACIONES is consolidated with four years of career path and celebrates a new meeting about the impact of the DANA.
The Universitat de València will celebrate on 24th April, from 9:00am to 2:30pm, in La Nau cultural centre, the intergenerational meeting "La DANA. Diferents generacions, diferents mirades" (The DANA. Different generations, different perspectives). This is an initiative framed in the teaching innovation project INTERGENERACIONES (INTERGENERATIONS), which celebrates its fourth year of development.
The event is considered a place for collective reflection upon the environmental, economic, social and emotional effects caused by the DANA from 29th October 2024. Through dialogue between generations, the event tries to analyse how this situation has impacted differently in our society and what learning can be learned from a shared perspective.
The project INTERGENERACIONES is based on a methodology of learning service inspired in the Citizen Science, which promotes the interaction among students of different educational eras and generations. In this meeting, a faculty of more than 10 different degrees of the Universitat de València and the Universitat Politècnica de València will participate, along with degree students, students from Nau Gran and representatives of institutions and entities, particularly linked with associations related with the DANA.
From its implementation in the 2022-2023 academic year, the project has already organised 16 intergenerational meetings. The obtained results prove significant improvement in the learning of contents and competences, as well as a positive impact in motivation, participation and emotional wellbeing of students.
One of the key pillars of this initiative is the creation of dialogue safe spaces to share experiences, reflect on current issues, and strength social and communicative skills. In this sense, the project directly addresses issues about mental health, resilience, and social reconstruction after some crisis episodes, which are particularly significant aspects in the current context.
The meeting of 24th April will allow to study in more detail the DANA from an interdisciplinary and intergenerational perspective, including academic visions, personal experiences, and citizen knowledge. This nearness boosts a more complete comprehension of the current phenomena and strengthens the university's role as an active agent in society.
With this initiative, the Universitat de València reassures its compromise with the teaching innovation, the knowledge transfer and the connection with society, boosting educational models that include academic learning and vital experience to face the current challenges.
