Researchers meeting

Since 2017, the Universitat de València is one of the institutions recognised by the European Commission with this award, which rewards excellence in the management of human resources for research.

The “HR Excellence in Research” award (HR award) gives public recognition to research institutions that have made progress in aligning their human resources policies with the principles set out in the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers (C&C). This recognition shows the commitment of the Universitat de València to the implementation of fair and transparent procedures in the recruitment and evaluation of researchers, set out in the Human Resources Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R).

Commitment of the UV and renewal of the award

In April 2016, the Universitat de València adhered to the European Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers and to the European Charter for Researchers, starting thus the implementation of the Human Resources Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R). This is a continued process of revision and improvement in the management of all aspects related to the human resources policy of our university. Obtaining this seal implies not only establishing, but also maintaining constantly-evolving standards over time. These standards contribute to the improvement of job conditions and the professional career of our researchers, all while attracting talent and promoting the quality and impact of the research conducted in our institution.

There will soon be arriving to the university a delegation of the European Commission that will assess not only the advances carried out in the last years, but also the objectives and guidelines set out by our own work group to keep implementing the principles of the charter and the code. The commission will decide if it renews the award to the university and, most probably, will carry out a series of observations and recommendations that will be integrated into a renovated Action Planning. This planning will be implemented in the next three years to continue improving the quality of our human resources policies.
