From March 23 to 26, the XVI International Seminar of the Master's Degree in Human Rights, Peace and Sustainable Development took place, dedicated to the study of the "right to a just peace in Francisco de Vitoria".

The meeting analyzed his life, work and validity, highlighting his role in the School of Salamanca and his contribution to the development of international law. It reflected on issues such as human sociability, the limits of sovereignty and his proposal for a legal humanism.

It also delved into the philosophical-legal foundations of just peace, examining Vitoria's influence on contemporary international law and the idea of ​​a global order based on justice and cosmopolitanism.

It also addressed the ethical and practical dimension of his thought, exploring the relationship between justice, fraternity and friendship, as well as various applications of his theories in the field of international order.

Finally, research was presented that applied Victorian thought to contemporary issues, such as freedom of conscience, international conflicts, social justice or reflection on war.

Overall, the seminar highlighted the relevance of Francisco de Vitoria's thought for understanding the foundations of peace, human rights and international law today.
