The origins of Organic Chemistry Master’s degree are to be found in the Official PhD Doctorate “Organic Chemistry in chemical-pharmaceutical industry” distinguished with Quality Award (Ref.  2004-00280) according to the Resolution 22 June 2004 (Official State Gazette 5th July 2014) of the University State Secretary.

This PhD programme caused the Master’s degree in Experimental Organic and Industrial Chemistry that was approved by the Universitat de València’s Consell de Govern, in 29th November 2005. The proposal received the favourable report by the Valencian Committee for Quality Assessment and Certification (CVAEC) on 23 January 2006 and it was authorised for its implementation according to the Decree 44/2006, 31 March, of the Council of the Valencian Government (DOGV 5233 de 04/04/2006).
With Royal Decree 1393/2007, of 29 December, establishing the organisation of official university studies, coming into force the report of Master’s degree in Experimental and Industrial Organic Chemistry was presented for its validation. In 29th July of 2009, the Study Programmes Verification Commission verified positively the proposal of the inter-university Master’s degree in Experimental and Industrial Organic Chemistry coordinated by the University of Valencia. In 23rd December of 2010 a new verification was referred, including UB, UPV, UIB and CH-CEU as participants.

After the exit of the UB in 2015’s consortium the Master’s degree academic organization was posed again with the aim of facilitate its administrative management; currently the administrative management depends on the Universitat de València. The new Master’s degree proposal in Organic Chemistry, assigned in the Faculty of Chemistry whose responsible body is the Department of Organic Chemistry, was approved by the Universitat de València’s Consell de Govern the 18th December of 2015 (ACGUV 297/2015), receiving ANECA  favourable report in 2nd June of 2016.
