Professor of Procedural Law at the University of Valencia (since 1998). President of the University of Valencia General Foundation and Vice Rector for Communication and Institutional Relations (2010–2014). She is the first and only female legal scholar in the Spanish-speaking world to be part of the AKademiaNet Network (which includes influential female researchers from around the world). She has been awarded the Grand Cross of San Raimundo de Peñafort. She is an honorary consul of the Lonja and President of the Alexander von Humboldt Association–Spain. She is a member of the ValgrAI Foundation.

 

She is a member of the General Codification Commission. She served on the Ministry of Justice’s Commission of 8 Experts tasked with drafting the Principles of the Law on Judicial Organization and Jurisdictional Boundaries from 2008 to 2009 and was a member of the LECRIM 2021 Commission.

Honorary doctorate from the following universities: Gabriel René Moreno Autonomous University (Bolivia, 2006), Örebro University (Sweden, 2017), Inca Garcilaso University (Peru, 2018), Norbert Wiener University of Peru (2021), and the Autonomous University of Chile (2021); Honorary professor at the Faculty of Ourense, honorary member of the Cuban Society of Procedural Law, and member of the Mexican and Spanish Academies of Criminal Sciences. She has completed numerous research stays at prestigious universities.


She has supervised 23 doctoral dissertations. She has delivered more than 400 lectures and taught courses at most Spanish, Asian, and Latin American universities, and has trained lawyers, judges, and prosecutors. She has been a professional and academic pioneer in the field of ADR (mediation, negotiation, arbitration). She is a national and international arbitrator and President of the Chamber of Arbitration and Mediation of Valencia. She is a mediator. She is currently working on sustainability, vulnerability, algorithms, artificial intelligence, and justice.

 

Sonia Rodríguez Llamas, Full Professor of Civil Law at the University of Valencia, has a doctorate from this university and has more than three decades of academic and research experience. Her main lines of research focus on civil liability, appropriate methods of conflict resolution (MASC) and mediation, family crises and economic-matrimonial regimes, gender violence and civil contracting. He has two recognized six-year periods of research and a solid scientific production that includes three monographs (one of them with a second edition), an annotated legislative compilation, forty book chapters and sixteen articles in indexed journals, in addition to intense participation in national and international conferences and seminars. 

She has participated in various competitive international, national and regional research projects on intellectual property, mediation, gender violence and European law, as well as in research contracts with public administrations. These activities have been complemented with research stays in prestigious centers, such as the University of London or the Sapienza University of Rome. 

His research activity is also characterized by a strong orientation towards the transfer of knowledge, highlighting his membership in the Institutional Chair for the Culture of Mediation (UV-Generalitat) and his continued participation in specialized training for legal operators (CGPJ, IVAP, among others), as well as his contribution to the development of public regulations, such as the Citizen Coexistence Ordinance of the city of Valencia.

In the teaching field, for more than 30 academic years, he has taught Civil Law subjects in numerous degrees and double degrees (Law, DADE, Political Sciences,Criminology, among others), as well as in official master's and doctoral programs. His teaching activity has been positively evaluated with four five-year periods and an excellent rating in the Docentia program, and is characterized by methodological innovation, the use of ICT and the practical orientation of learning. 

Likewise, she continuously participates in teaching innovation projects and is a member of consolidated groups in this field, having also served as principal researcher in projects aimed at the development of legal skills. In the field of academic direction, he has co-supervised a doctoral thesis and directed numerous master's and degree final projects. 

In terms of university management, she currently serves as co-director of the Master's Degree in Law and Gender Violence at the University of Valencia and has been its secretary, in addition to holding the position of Cap d'Initiatives against Sexist Violence at the University of Valencia since 2019, leading institutional initiatives on equality and prevention. He has led the creation of the UV service "Espai Violeta" of the UV. This service provides legal, psychological and academic assistance and support to women victims of sexist violence who are part of the university community
