Born in Valencia (1978), he is an Associate Professor (Profesor Titular) of Ethics and Political Philosophy at the Faculty of Philosophy and Education Sciences of the Universitat de València. He holds a BA in Ecclesiastical Studies (San Vicente Ferrer Faculty of Theology), a BA in Classical Philology, and both a BA and a PhD in Philosophy (Universitat de València) with an Extraordinary Doctorate Award. Furthermore, he obtained a second PhD in Philosophy from the University of Bologna. His research interests encompass moral, political and social philosophy, civic studies, and contemporary hermeneutics. Furthermore, his work covers the philosophy of the art of living and the relationship between philosophy and literature, with a particular emphasis on the thought of Aristotle and Nietzsche and their reception. A member of the ETIDEMO (Applied Ethics and Democracy) research group, he has participated in more than ten competitive national and international projects, notably the 2021 Knowledge Generation project on armed conflicts and multidimensional security, as well as two projects within the Prometeo programme. He has three recognised six-year research periods (sexenios) and is the author of books, book chapters, and articles in high-impact journals. He has undertaken research stays at internationally renowned centres in cities such as Bologna, Paris, Turin, Freiburg, Oxford, Washington, Boston, and Mexico City, among others, having been a fellow of the Real Colegio de España and the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. In the field of management, he served as Head of the Department of Philosophy (2019–2025) and is currently Vice-Dean for Culture, Transfer, and Sustainability. He coordinates the Philosophy Pathway and the Higher Studies Course in Thought and Culture of Classical Antiquity (ANCLA) of the La Nau Gran University Programme. As a lecturer, he has five recognised five-year teaching periods (quinquenios), achieving an excellent rating in the most recent evaluation period. He has supervised eight doctoral theses (six with international mention) and has led established educational innovation projects such as Ethos Living Lab – Ethics and Professions. Additionally, he has served as an evaluator for European programmes, including Horizon Europe, Erasmus+, COST and Horizon 2020. Furthermore, he has led international cooperation projects and is a member of the Executive Board of the Valencian Community Section of the Spanish Society of Classical Studies (SEEC). |

Marina García-Granero Gascó is an Assistant Professor of Moral Philosophy at the University of Valencia. She has been a postdoctoral researcher at KU Leuven in Belgium, where she worked as a member of the European Project "Homo Mimeticus." She received her Ph.D in Philosophy (with Extraordinary Award) from the University of Valencia for a thesis on Nietzsche's concept of “breeding” or “cultivation” (Züchtung), which Prof. Jesús Conill directed. She has been a visiting researcher at the École Normale Supérieure of Paris, the University of Salento in Italy, and the Institute of Philosophy (CSIC). Her areas of research and teaching are Nietzschean philosophy, moral philosophy, and feminist philosophy. On these topics, she has published in leading Spanish-speaking magazines, such as Isegoría, Daimon, Estudios Nietzsche, Ideas y Valores, and Logos, among others. Additionally, she is a member of several research groups and societies dedicated to Nietzsche, such as the Friedrich Nietzsche Society (UK) and HyperNietzsche. |

Degree and PhD in Philosophy from the University of Valencia with Extraordinary Doctorate Award and European Doctor Degree. He has carried out research stays at the Freie Universität (Berlin, Germany), Eberhard Karls University (Tübingen, Germany) Northwestern University (Evanston, USA), Oxford University (England), Johannes Gutenberg Universität (Mainz, Germany), University of Cambridge ( England) and Universidade Nova (Lisbon). He has received scholarships from the Spanish Ministry of Education, the University of Valencia and the DAAD. He is Senior Lecturer of Moral, Political and Social Philosophy of the Faculty of Philosophy and Educational Sciences of the University of Valencia. For 8 years he was a tenured professor of Philosophy of Secondary Education. IN the past he also was FPU research fellow of the Spanish Ministry of Education, Assistant Professor and Associate Professor at University of Valencia. He has been professor of the Philosophy in the Master in Secondary Education Teacher at the University of Valencia. Since 2009 he has also been professor of the Master in Ethics and Democracy and of the doctoral program in Ethics and Democracy. Since 2017, he has been visiting professor of the doctoral program in educational sciences at the Technological University of Pereira in Colombia. Since 2004 he has been a collaborating professor at the Valencian Institute of Public Safety and Emergencies of the Generalitat Valenciana, in which he has taught the subject of Ethics of Organizations and Police Ethics to police officers and chiefs. He has directed 4 doctoral thesis, 60 Final Master's Thesis and numerous Final Degree Projects. He has published more than 100 papers in specialized journals and chapters of book in publishing houses of excellence. He has published 5 books and has edited as coordinator 4 more. He has participated as a Member in several research projects of the Spanish Ministry, the Generalitat Valencia and as a principal investigator in research projects of the University of Valencia. He has also been the principal investigator of several educational innovation projects and in these moments he is the coordinator of the international network of educational innovation in Philosophy. His main lines of research are critical hermeneutics, Spanish philosophy, applied ethics, intercultural ethics, police ethics, ethical keys for human training and education in a pluralistic and democratic society, educational innovation in ethics and philosophy, neuroethics and ethics for artificial intelligence. |

Carlota Gómez Herrera is a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Philosophy at the Universitat de València (UV). She has been the recipient of a Predoctoral Contract for University Teacher Training (FPU) from the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation, and Universities. She holds a PhD in Philosophy (Ethics and Democracy Program – UV/UJI), with International Mention and an excellent cum laude grade, with a dissertation entitled Discourse, Body, and Life in the Philosophy of Michel Foucault: Projections in Contemporary Thought, supervised by Professors Agustín Domingo and Francisco Arenas. She won the First Prize of the V National Philosophy Competition Gender and Philosophy (2020) with the essay Democracy, Justice, and Feminism: Iris Marion Young. She has developed part of her research at the Universidade NOVA de Lisboa (IFILNOVA). She graduated in Philosophy from the Universitat de València (UV) with the final degree project Sarah Kofman and Metaphor. She received a Research Collaboration Grant with the Department of Philosophy for the project Nietzsche and Feminism (2020–2021). At the same university, she completed two postgraduate programs: the Interuniversity Master in Ethics and Democracy, with Extraordinary Award (2021–2022), with the work Physiology of power: Foucault, reader of Nietzsche, and the University Master in Secondary Education Teaching (2022–2023), with the work Philosophy, Education, and the Art of Living. She has served as a student representative for the Philosophy Degree in the Department Council (2019–2021), for the Interuniversity Master in Ethics and Democracy (2021–2022), and for the University Master in Secondary Education Teaching (2022–2023). She has also been an elected member of the Claustro of the Universitat de València, the university’s highest representative and governing body, serving as a representative of Early-Career Researchers (2023–2025). She is a member of the Ibero-American Foucault Network, the Association of Philosophical Hispanism (AHF), and the Ibero-American Hermeneutics Network (RIAH). |
