Teaching seminar. 14–18 November 2022
The purpose of this 20-hour seminar on Christian Greek Literature is to address the gap in the Classical Philology degree programme, which currently lacks the study and translation of Greek texts from the Christian period. The seminar will consist of monographic sessions that cover both theoretical and practical aspects of a representative genre of literature, such as the Apocryphal Acts of the Apostles, and a text of major importance and influence in the formation of the Christian feminine ideal during Late Antiquity, such as the Acts of Paul and Techla.
– This training activity is part of two research projects: ‘Literary topics and narrators in women’s martyrial literature’ (GIGE/2021/075), funded by the Valencian Government, and ‘Edition, Translation and Commentary of Acta Thomae’ (PID2019-111268GB-I00), funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities.
