Translation and Reception of Classical Culture
The texts that can be found on this blog (https://trirec.blogs.uv.es) correspond to the assessment work carried out by first-year students of the Degree in Translation and Interlinguistic Mediation at the Faculty of Philology, Translation and Communication of the Universitat de València.
Within the framework of the course Translation and Reception of Classical Culture, we delve into the knowledge of the Greco-Roman Classical legacy and its survival throughout history, as well as into the reinterpretations and rewritings of Classical motifs that shape the European imaginary (primarily, but not exclusively). Clearly, in the study of the transmission of the Classical legacy, the analysis of the work of translation and retranslation, which over the centuries has allowed the survival and dissemination of the Classical world, holds significant weight.
