The Research Group on the Reception of Classical Literature (GIRLC) is organising an interdisciplinary meeting to discuss the presence of water and wine as elements of life and death in the Classical tradition and its reception in medieval and modern literatures.

This meeting addresses the same problem as the previous editions since 2008: the prevalence of ancient literature, preferably in medieval literature and, subsequently, in modern and contemporary literature. Participants will first discuss the reception of Greek and Latin literature in different national literatures. Then, they will focus on authors, works and specific texts of particular relevance. The main goals are to showcase the Group’s research on the reception of Latin and Greek literature in medieval literature, and to promote an inclusive research process that integrates the expertise and contributions of experts from diverse fields.
