The MALDI-TOF MS technique allows obtaining the characteristic protein profile of a microbial strain from the analysis of its ribosomal proteins, mainly.
The protein profile obtained for a strain allows its identification by comparison with the profiles included in the reference database, as well as the phenotypic characterisation of microorganisms.
The comparison of profiles of different strains by means of principal component analysis and dendrogram clustering allows the degree of similarity between the isolates analysed to be determined.
- Microbial identification and taxonomy.
- Microbial characterisation.
ISO 9001:2015
Use restricted to CECT personnel.
The user must send an active culture of each strain (triple streak seeded Petri dish in the case of prokaryotes and yeasts; slant agar tube is also accepted in the case of filamentous fungi).
