The Traditional Music and Dance Chair was established to restore Valencia’s intangible cultural heritage as a fundamental aspect of the Valencian identity.

Therefore, its main objective is to organise research, training and dissemination activities on traditional music and its origins, ritual dances, popular dances and festive drama so that they may be made available to the scientific community and the Valencian society as a whole.

A series of research and scientific activities, including congresses, seminars, and training sessions, will be held with the aim of protecting and enhancing this cultural heritage.

Furthermore, the Chair will assist in the organisation of exhibitions, conferences, concerts, and other events, as well as in the publication of interdisciplinary studies focused on traditional music and dance. Inspired by the above objectives, the Chair aims to provide a platform for institutions, associations, public and private entities, performers, researchers and other interested parties to share their ideas and knowledge in support of the promotion, study and dissemination of traditional Valencian music and dance.
