bioApS is a Learning and Service project created with the participation of students related to Biology, both Degree and Master's Degree students, at the Universitat de València. We develop various materials for pre-university students at the request of their teachers and also, as they are finally open access, for anyone who is interested in these contents.

The initiative promotes the dissemination of biology as a team, teachers and student. Sharing a common goal and working with students with ApS methodology: our students learn and improve skills related to their studies and, at the same time, they do a service to society by creating materials with a predetermined target audience (educational centres) and making everything they do fully accessible.

Everything is materialised in a web portal (http://bioaps.uv.es) from which you can access different elements such as a glossary of biological terms (http://bioaps.uv.es/bioglossari), a diverse repertoire of talks that we give in the centres (http://xarradaps.uv.es), an extensive collection of videos on various topics (http://bioaps.uv.es/biovideos), a virtual microscope with histological samples (http://histoaps.uv.es) and, also, a page where we upload a scientific photo each day accompanied by a simple explanation (http://www.bpod.cat).

All in all, we could assure that the students who participate in this project play a leading role in their learning. In addition, with all these interactive and multimedia teaching and dissemination materials on Biology (in Valencian), we bring science closer to society, we make science more 'ApS-cessible' with a learning and service dynamic (ApS).
