UNESCO Chair of Human Rigths and Democracy

The mission of the UNESCO Chair, inside the parameters of the UNESCO´s framework of the needs of human security and social diversity and social and ethnic groups and peoples peculiarities, aims to deepen the theoretical debate on Human Rights, good governance and democracy; encourage the study of human rights from a comparative perspective as a point of reflection, encounter and intercultural dialogue in the academic and social environment, and promote the exchange of professors, researchers and voluntary workers; training researcher and teacher staff in the field of human rights, creating credits and diplomas recognized and valid on Human Rights; and establish a suitable channel at higher institutions and civil society of the results achieved. UNESCO Chair in Telemedicine

This Chair purpose is to promote, disseminate and maintain quality distance medicine in places where it is most needed, such as the developing world, geographically isolated areas and other locations lacking general healthcare. With this goal in mind, the ULL offers training via elective courses in the Medicine, Computer Science and Seamanship degrees, as well as doctoral courses.
