
The exhibition schowcases a series of images and first person narrated texts written by activists and conservationists, their personal backstory and their work under threats for fighting against the East African Crude Oil Pipeline Project (EACOP), an oil pipe of 1443 kilometers between Uganda and Tanzania.
The exhibitions showcases the fight of these African activists against climate change and for human rights. Through images and first person texts by the same activists and conservationists, their lives and their heavily threatened work is displayed vividly. Different profiles addressing different ways African activists fight for their rights against multinational corporations.
The images show the environmental impact on the habitats for native Rothschild giraffes (endangered), ape communities, mangrove forests and African coral belt.
The pictures were taken on September and October 2022 throught Uganda and Tanzania for a journalism research funded by Pascal *Decroos *Fund and Journalismfund.eu, and was published in France (Médiapart), Spain (El País), Belgium (MO Magazine) and Sweden (Daslamm).
The exhibition will be open at Universitat de València Gandia International Centre’s Tossal Room until next January.
