The Gandia Summer University includes a training offer with eighteen seminars with different timetables. Registration is now open and can be completed online through the website.
This year’s academic programme includes new additions. Although it continues to offer informative seminars to introduce society the most innovative aspects of academic work, the programme has been extended to include specialised seminars for postgraduate and doctoral students, as well as research staff in training, as well as professional guidance and refresher courses for various groups.
This year the academic programme has been developed through a call for proposals published by the Office of the Vice-Principal for Culture and Society, led by Vice-Principal Ester Alba. Nearly 60 proposals of very high scientific quality were submitted, thus, showing the interest and commitment of the teaching staff of the Universitat de València to Gandia and the Gandia Summer University.
An academic programme has been designed around three types of activities, which include:
- Six specialised seminars on medieval history, contemporary Spanish poetry, forest fire management, treatment for anxiety and depression, artificial intelligence and innovations in journalism. As well as receiving training in these areas, the participating students will be able to present their work and research in the form of posters and papers.
- Four refresher courses to meet the need to train professionals in new areas or areas that have experienced significant legislative or cultural changes, such as the civil guardianship of people with disabilities, the education for emotional well-being, the prevention of and action against gender-based violence, and new family relationships.
- Eight informative seminars to bring society closer to the latest scientific knowledge on current issues that appeal to people, such as the challenges of artificial intelligence, the importance of chemistry in daily life, physical activity, public health and the so-called chemsex, gender-based cyberviolence that affects predominantly young people, female artistic creation and the possibilities of social and sustainable entrepreneurship.
Registration for the seminars is now open via online, where you may find further information.
