The members of our research team are interested in ethology, especially in animal communication, the evolution of behavior and neuroethology. Since 1989, our research has focused on several issues related to the behavior and neurobiology of reptiles. Most of the research that we conduct in the laboratory or in the field, uses various species of lizards of the family Lacertidae, locally abundant. We also have ongoing projects with other lacertids (including Gallotia galloti de Tenerife), Liolaemus (Liolaemidae family), and flour beetles (Tenebrio molitor). We are also interested in the study of neurogenesis and neuronal regeneration in a comparative perspective. The group maintains a number of years collaborations with researchers from other Spanish and foreign universities (Portugal, Chile).
