Biografía
 

Dr. Dolores Añón Higón is Full Professor at the Faculty of Economics and Associate Researcher of the Social and Economic Behaviour Institute (ERI-CES) at the Universitat de València (UV). Before joining the UV in 2008, she worked at Aston University, and Warwick University. Dolores is an applied economist whose main research interest is to understand the drivers and impediments of productivity enhancement, with a particular focus on innovation, digitization, and internationalization strategies. She has published in Industrial and Corporate ChangeInformation & ManagementOxford Bulletin of Economics and Statistics, Research Policy, Small Business Economics, among others. Her research has been funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Research (currently as Principal Investigator); the UK Engineering and Physical Science Research Council (EPSRC), the European Commission, the British Academy, the NESTA Foundation, and various government agencies including UKTI, and DTI, as well as local governments (Generalitat Valenciana, Manchester Independent Economic Review) and private sector (BBVA Foundation).

Biografía
 

Licenciado en Administración y Dirección de Empresas por la UV, así como en Investigación y Técnicas de Mercado. Durante su etapa de estudiante tuvo la oportunidad de obtener un Certificado de Management & Culture en la Universidad de Linköping (Suecia) gracias al Programa Erasmus.

Tras trabajar en diversos sectores como la construcción, las finanzas y la economía social, realizó como becado un Máster en Dirección de Empresas Internacionales en el Centro de Estudios Económicos y Comerciales (CECO) de ICEX España Exportación e Inversiones tras el cual accedió a un periodo de un año de prácticas en la Oficina Comercial de la Embajada de España en Omán.

Actualmente, y tras desarrollar varios proyectos profesionales en el ámbito del comercio exterior, compagina la docencia en la UV con su profesión de Técnico de Promoción Económica. Sus áreas de interés son la economía internacional, la competitividad, la creación de valor en empresas y la eficiencia en el sector público.

Biografía
 

Dr. Omar Blanco Arroyo is assistant professor at the Department of Applied Economics II (Estructura Econòmica), University of Valencia. He holds a PhD in Economics and Business by the University Jaume I (Castellón, Spain). His research interests are focused on the dynamics of large firms and their macroeconomic impact. His work has been published in Economics Letters and Mathematics and he has also participated in different competitive projects supported by the Valencian government.

Dr Rafael Boix is Full Professor at the Departament d'Estructura Economica, Universitat de València. Ph.D. in Economics, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. He previously held academic position at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and has been visiting researcher at the Politecnico di Milano, visiting professor at the European Business Module of the Università degli Studi di Firenze and in the master courses of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and Escola d'Administració Pública de Catalunya. He has been external consultant for the OECD and has participated in applied research for the Barcelona City Hall, Barcelona's Province, Valencia Regional Government, the Spanish Ministry of Industry, and the European Commission.

Biografía
 

Dr. María Feo Valero is Associate Professor at the Department of Applied Economics II (Estructura Econòmica), University of Valencia. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics by the University of Valencia. Most of her professional activity has focused on research in the area of transport economics: initially at the Valenciaport Foundation as R&D project manager (2004-2012) and then as assistant professor at the University Jaume I of Castellón (2012-2016) and, since 2016, as associate professor at the University of Valencia and Associate Researcher of the Institute of International Economics (IEI). Within the area of transport economics her work has focused on the modelling of the freight transport demand and the analysis of its determinants through advanced discrete choice models and stated preference techniques. She has collaborated in competitive national research projects and international projects and her work has been published in international journals of the area.

Soy licenciado y doctor en Ciencias Económicas y Empresariales por la Universitat de València (Premio Extraordinario en ambos casos) y Master of Science in Economics por University College London. He realizado estancias de investigación en Fedea, en el Real Colegio Complutense en la Universidad de Harvard, en el Banco Inter-Americano de Desarrollo, en el Banco Mundial y en diversas universidades españolas. Soy autor de una veintena de capítulos de libro y más de 50 artículos publicados en revistas de reconocido prestigio como European Economic Review, Journal of Development Economics, Journal of Money, Credit and Banking, Review of World Economics, Review of International Economics, The World Economy o Oxford Economic Papers, entre otras. He sido miembro electo de la junta directiva y tesorero de la Asociación Española de Economía y Finanzas Internacionales (2005-2011), editor asociado de la Revista de Economía Aplicada (2006-2016), coordinador del Grado en Economía (2013-2015), director del Departamento de Estructura Económica de la Universitat de València (2015-2021) y coordinador del Doble Grado en Derecho y Economía (desde 2022). Por lo que respecta a la docencia, he participado en múltiples manuales y proyectos de innovación docente y he recibido más de una docena de reconocimientos y premios a mi labor docente.

Biografía
 

Víctor Gómez Blanco es profesor ayudante doctor en el Departamento de Estructura Económica de la Universitat de València e investigador asociado del Instituto Figuerola. Su investigación se centra en finanzas, historia económica y desigualdad, y ha sido publicada en revistas como Economic History Review.

Tras obtener el doctorado en la Universidad Carlos III de Madrid en 2021, trabajó como investigador contratado en un proyecto ERC en el Instituto Carlos III-Juan March y en un proyecto de la red Leonardo (BBVA) ambos sobre desigualdad. Más adelante, fue becario postdoctoral en el Departamento de Finanzas de Tilburg University.

Su experiencia docente, antes de unirse a la Univertat de València, se desarrolló en la Universidad Carlos III de Madrid y en la Universidad Complutense de Madrid e engloba las asignaturas de Microeconomía, Macroeconomía, Historia Económica, Crecimiento Económico y Econometría.

Dr. Rafael Llorca Vivero earned a Bachelor degree in Economics (with distintcion) at the Universitat de València (Valencia, Spain), a Master Science in Economics (with distinction) at University College London and a PhD at the University of Valencia. He is now Professor of Applied Economics in the Economic Structure Department of the Universitat de València. His main research area of interest is in the ambit of International Trade. He has published in journals such as European Economic Review, Journal of Development Economics, Review of World Economics, Review of International Economics, The World Economy or Oxford Economic Papers, among others.

El Dr. Juan A. Máñez es licenciado en Economía por la Universidad de Valencia, tiene un Máster de Economía por la Universidad de Warwick, y es Doctor en Economía también por la Universidad de Warwick. Actualmente es Catedrático de Economía Aplicada en el Departamento de Estructura Económica de la Universidad de Valencia e investigador asociado del Instituto de Comportamiento Económico y Social (ERI-CES) de la Universidad de Valencia. Su docencia actual se centra en los campos de Economía Internacional, Organización Industrial y Microeconometría. Su principal línea de investigación es el análisis del papel de las actividades de comercio e innovación en los resultados de las empresas manufactureras. También mantiene activas otras líneas de investigación como el análisis del papel de los activos intangibles, supervivencia de las empresas, decisiones estratégicas y economía experimental. Su trabajo de investigación ha resultado en una serie de publicaciones (43 publicaciones científicas, de las cuales 32 están en revistas JCR). Ha participado en 31 proyectos nacionales (6 de ellos como líder de equipo) y 4 proyectos internacionales (3 proyectos de la UE y 1 proyecto del Banco Mundial). Ha asistido a alrededor de 130 conferencias y workshops nacionales e internacionales.

Dr. Jesús Peiró-Palomino is Associate Professor at the Department of Applied Economics II (Estructura Econòmica), University of Valencia. He holds a PhD in Economics by the University Jaume I (Castellón, Spain). He has been Assistant Professor at University Jaume I (2016-2019) and visited the Aarhus University (Denmark, Fall 2013) and the Utrecht University (Netherlands, Fall 2017). His research interests are institutions and their role in economic development processes, especially at the regional level. He is also interested in the measurement of well-being and social progress, their spatial distribution and their evolution over time. His work has been published in several international scientific journals and he has also participated in different competitive projects.

Soy catedrático de Economía en la Universidad de Valencia, y ex Editor Ejecutivo de la revista académica Applied Economic Analysis. Estudié un Master en Economía en la London School of Economics and Political Science, y soy Doctor en Ciencias Económicas y Empresariales por la Universidad de Valencia. Mis principales campos de investigación son la economía medioambiental, la economía del agua y, recientemente, el desarrollo económico. Mis trabajos combinan teoría económica con técnicas empíricas avanzadas para contribuir a la formulación de políticas en estas áreas. La principal contribución en economía medioambiental es el desarrollo de modelos y métodos basados en la teoría de la producción y programación matemática para evaluar el desempeño económico y medioambiental, con artículos muy citados en revistas de impacto. También he estudiado el mercado del suministro urbano de agua; en particular, el impacto de su estructura sobre la eficiencia y el efecto de la regulación en la dinámica del mercado. Dr. Francisco Requena Silvente is Full Professor in Applied Economics at the Universitat de València. He got his Ph.D. in Economics from the London School of Economics. He was Reader in Economics at University of Sheffield (2013-2016) and Assistant Professor at University of California, Davis (2008-2009). His main research area is Applied International Economics, with special interest in international trade and international migration. His work has been published in several scientific journals including Review of World Economy, The World Economy, International Journal of Industrial Organization, Small Business Economics, Regional Studies, among others.

Dr. María E. Rochina Barrachina holds a PhD and a Master’s Degree in Economics, both from University College London (The University of London). At present, she is a Professor at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Valencia. She is also affiliated to the Interdisciplinary Research Network “Social and Economic Behaviour (ERI-CES)” from the University of Valencia. She teaches International Trade and Microeconometrics. Her main research interests are in the areas of applied microeconometrics, applied industrial organization, applied international economics, the analysis of firm dynamics in innovation and internationalization strategies, firm productivity, and entrepreneurship. Her work has been published in several scientific journals including Journal of Industrial Economics, International Journal of Industrial Organization, Oxford Economic Papers, Technological Forecasting and Social Change, Industry and Innovation, Industrial and Corporate Change, The Econometrics Journal, Review of World Economics, World Economy, Small Business Economics, and Empirical Economics, among others. She has been involved in many national (Spanish Ministry of Science and Technology) and international projects (European Commission, BBVA foundation, and World Bank) and has attended around 150 national and international conferences and workshops. She has supervised 2 PhD Thesis and 18 Master Dissertations.

Dr. Juan A. Sanchis Llopis is Professor in Economics in the Applied Economics Department of the University of Valencia (Spain). He is also affiliated to the Interdisciplinary Research Network “Social and Economic Behaviour (ERI-CES)” from the University of Valencia. He has an economic background, with a M.Sc. and a Ph.D. in Economics from University College London, the University of London. His current research area focuses on applied industrial economics, and in particular on firm strategic decisions such as the engagement in R&D activities or exporting or both. He has participated in several projects supported by the Spanish Ministry of Economics, Industry and Competitiveness and by the European Commission and the Valencian government. His publications include articles in the Journal of Industrial Economics, the Industrial and Corporate Change, the World Economics, Empirica, the Review of Industrial Organizationand the Small Business Economics, among others.

Dra. Amparo Sanchis Llopis is Professor of Economics in the Department of Applied Economics of the University of Valencia (Spain). She is also affiliated to the Interdisciplinary Research Network “Social and Economic Behaviour (ERI-CES)” from the University of Valencia. She has an economic background, with a M.Sc. and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of London, UK. She teaches International Economics and Industrial Organization in the Degree of Economics of the University of Valencia. Her current research area focuses on applied industrial economics, and in particular on the process of innovation and the engagement in R&D activities by firms. Especial interests include the determinants of firms’ persistence in R&D activities, and the relationship between competition and innovation incentives. She has participated in many research projects supported by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Technology, the European Commission, and the Valencian Government. She has also attended many national and international conferences and workshops. Her publications include articles in the Journal of Industrial Economics, Oxford Economic Papers, International Journal of Industrial Organization, Review of Industrial Organization and Small Business Economics, among others.

Licenciado en Ciencias Económicas (Universitat de València, 1988), Doctor en Economía (UNED, 1998), Licenciado en Historia (Universitat de València, 2013) y Máster en Ética y Democracia (Universitat de València, 2020 - Premio extraordinario). Profesor Asociado en el Departamento de Economía Aplicada II de la Universitat de València desde 1994. Investigador del Instituto de Economía Social, Cooperativismo y Emprendimiento IUDESCOOP de la Universitat de València.

Técnico del Banco de España desde 1991.

Dr. Cecilio Tamarit Escalona is currently Professor of Economics at the University of Valencia. He holds an endowed "ad personam" Jean Monnet Chair in European Economic Integration and is a member of the INTECO joint research unit (https://www.inteco.uji.es). He was previously Senior Fellow at the Wharton School (University of Pennsylvania), Senior Advisor at the Spanish Prime Minister's Office, Visiting Fellow (and invited professor) at the University of Nottingham, University of Goettingen, Harvard University and Robert Schuman Scholar at the Research Department of the European Parliament. His main lines of research are Monetary and Fiscal Integration and International Trade and Macroeconometrics. He has published extensively in academic journals as Oxford Bulletin of Economics and Statistics, Journal of Banking and Finance, Economic Inquiry, Journal of Comparative Economics, Economics Letters, Journal of Macroeconomics or Economic Modelling.
