Artificial Intelligence has been presented to us as the future of technology, a change that will improve our lives (or so they say...). Allowing us to increase our productivity at work (even though salaries remain the same and the number of jobs is reduced...). But what happens when education becomes unnecessary because AI already knows everything? What happens when the cost of building thousands of data centers for AI turns out to be the depletion of the planet's resources? What happens when one of the world's greatest powers signs an agreement with an Artificial Intelligence company for military use, and with that, AI ends up taking human lives by pulling the trigger? It sounds like the script of a science fiction movie, but all of this is already happening...

Welcome to the end of the world. In this seminar, we will discuss the consequences of betting on a perfect future without being certain that it will ever arrive.
