Diego Intrigliolo, Director of the Centre for Research on Desertification (CIDE, CSIC-UV-GVA), will take part in the round table discussion ‘Innovation and sustainability in food and energy systems’.

On 13 and 14 November, CaixaForum València will host the ninth edition of the 100xCiencia conference, the annual meeting of the entities that make up the SOMMa Alliance (Severo Ochoa Centres of Excellence and María de Maeztu Units). This event will bring together leading researchers, R&D management professionals, institutional representatives and citizens to reflect on the role of science in the face of major social challenges. During both days, Valencia will become the epicentre of the debate on scientific progress and public policies aimed at strengthening the research system.

Professor Diego S. Intrigliolo, Director of the Centre for Research on Desertification (CIDE, CSIC-UV-GVA), will participate in the round table ‘Innovation and sustainability in food and energy systems’, which will take place on Friday 14 November at 2.30 p.m. This session will address how research conducted by CIDE and other centres can contribute to sustainable food production, considering key natural resources such as soil and water, which are especially relevant in semi-arid Mediterranean regions threatened by desertification.
